Meet The Team
David "Stephen" Scherer Jr.
Attorney & President
Stephen Scherer was born and currently resides in Hammond with his wife Liz, daughter Mackie, and son Davy.
Stephen earned his Civil Law degree and Environmental Law Certificate from Loyola University School of Law in New Orleans. He is a graduate of Louisiana State University and St. Thomas Aquinas High School. During his undergraduate studies, Stephen was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity and appeared on the Dean’s List.
After being admitted to practice law in November of 2014, Stephen worked in the oil and gas land title industry, as well as working on class action, personal injury and environmental lawsuits.
Stephen’s practice has focused primarily on real estate law, business transactions, successions, and wills. He has been a part of over 20,000 residential and commercial real estate transactions and enjoys resolving unique title problems for clients in an efficient and affordable manner.
Stephen enjoys spending time at the family camp on the Tickfaw River, snow skiing vacations, riding dirt bikes and making his kids laugh.
Douglas Harper
Attorney
Douglas Harper is a native of Baton Rouge, raised in the historic Garden District, where he currently resides with his girlfriend Anna, their two cats, Clarence and Portia, and the apple of his eye, his corgi-mix Rosie.
Douglas is an abstracting and examining attorney. Douglas is a 2017 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert LSU Law Center.
Douglas practiced in the area of Civil Litigation for just over two years. Some have called him the Maestro of the Public Record, due to having abstracted or examined title on more than 2,000 properties in South Louisiana since February of 2020. He draws his inspiration from other masters of their craft, including legendary Grateful Dead frontman, Jerry Garcia, and his colleague, Stephen Scherer.
When he’s not digging through Parish Land Records, Douglas more than likely is somewhere getting too stressed out about a given LSU sporting event, listening to music, cooking or reading.
Tiffany Hanna
Attorney
Tiffany S. Hanna was born and currently resides in Ponchatoula with her husband Donald “Buster” Waddell and daughter Rebekah.
Tiffany received her Bachelor of Arts from Southeastern Louisiana University in 1999. After college, Tiffany focused on her family and raising her daughter. She then decided to return to school to further her education and received her Juris Doctor in 2012 from Southern University Law Center.
Prior to and while attending law school, Tiffany worked for the 21st Judicial District Court District Attorney as the rape crisis coordinator and victim’s advocate. Towards the end of law school and after graduation, Tiffany worked at a local real estate closing company for five years gaining experience in the fields of real estate, personal injury and family law. Tiffany also has experience representing debtors in chapter 7 and chapter 13 bankruptcy.
Tiffany is admitted to practice in all Louisiana State Courts, as well as, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle and Western Districts of Louisiana. Tiffany is a member of the Louisiana State Bar Association and 21st JDC Bar Association.
In her free time, Tiffany enjoys time with her family and is an avid fitness enthusiast.
Ashley Gremillion
Abstractor
Ashley Gremillion was born and raised in Louisiana and currently resides in Covington with her husband, Zachary Plaisance, and two young daughters, Saskia and Nikolette.
Ashley started Abstracting in June 2004 and has over 18 years of experience with the compilation and preparation of both real estate and oil and gas (mineral) Abstracts of Title. Additionally, Ashley is proficient with all facets relating to title research and lease analysis in connection with the Oil and Gas Industry in the State of Louisiana.
The Link team is especially appreciative of Ashley’s performance driven attitude with extreme attention to detail. It ensures that deadlines, standards, and accuracy are understood and implemented effectively.
Ashley is a reptile enthusiast, enjoys cooking global dishes and spending time with her family in her spare time.
